We Invite You to Think About Jesus' Strength |

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” —2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) |

"Frequently remind yourself that God is with you, that He will never fail you, that you can count upon Him. Say these words, God is with me, helping me." —Dr. Norman Vincent Peale |

When you feel overwhelmed, pause and name one area where you can lean on Jesus’s strength instead of your own. Pray for His power to carry you through. |
|
|
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace that sustains me. |

|
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
—2 Corinthians 12:9–10 (NIV)

My fifteen-year-old son, Addison, is growing like a weed. At six-foot-one-inch tall, he’s also getting stronger. He likes to prove this by tackling me on the couch or by hugging me in a tight squeeze and dragging me through the kitchen.
I’ve started using his strength to my advantage. Whenever anything requires a strong back and a firm grip, I call on Addison. Boxes of books? Bins full of files? Heavy air-conditioning units that need to be carried up the stairs to a friend’s apartment? He’s my guy. Addison does the heavy lifting for me now.
In much the same way, Jesus does the heavy lifting where my spiritual weaknesses are concerned. His grace is all-encompassing. I want to be courageous, patient, and loving. I want to be kind, forgiving, and faithful. I fall short in so many ways. But His grace enables me to be and do more than I could ever hope or imagine. His power is made perfect in my weakness. When I am weak, He is strong. Jesus? He’s my guy!
